With this fantastic idea we wanted to contribute to the discussions on the climate catastrophe. Using an unseen (or unheard) way to open another way in to the topic: music.
The "For Seasons" is an algorithmic re-composition of Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’. Developed by composers, musicians, climate and computer scientists using geospatial climate predictions for 2050.
Here I'll explain the whole project in more detail!
The algorithm-based work re-scored Vivaldi’s Four Seasons using climate data gathered from 1725 until 2019.
For Seasons premiered to the world at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Soon, the voice of climate change achieved a reach of 1 billion contacts, with For Seasons now a partner of the United Nations Development Program.
The score is freely available to any orchestra in the world.
